In 2021, low-altitude economy was included in the national plan for the first time, and the Central Economic Work Conference at the end of 2023 officially listed low-altitude economy as a strategic emerging industry. The Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee proposed to develop general aviation and low-altitude economy. In order to promote the exploration and practice of new industrialization in the aviation manufacturing industry, in March this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology and other four departments jointly issued the "Implementation Plan for the Innovation and Application of General Aviation Equipment (2024-2030)". New fields and new tracks are the products of the global scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation. They are not only the decisive force leading the country's future economic and social development, but also the key variables affecting the country's strategic position in the future global political and economic landscape. It is crucial for the country to seize strategic opportunities, achieve leapfrog development, and master the initiative in development.
Against this background, the China UAV Industry Innovation Alliance will jointly hold the "2025 International UAV Application and Control Conference" in Beijing in July 2025 with influential units from all parties. The organizing committee is committed to combining conferences, exhibitions and competitions to create a high-standard and high-level international event for the application of drone industry, promote the healthy and effective development of the domestic drone industry, strengthen regional international exchanges and cooperation on drones, and explore the path of innovative development of the international drone industry.

The competition is a national competition held to implement the national innovation-driven development strategy, promote the development of low-altitude economy, explore and expand the scientific and technological innovation capabilities and engineering practice capabilities of practitioners, students and enthusiasts in the field of drones, deeply stimulate scientific interests, ignite scientific dreams, discover innovative design talents for drones, promote the in-depth integration of drone education and industry, and promote the cultivation of comprehensive independent innovation talents.
